Thoughts after our Bye Week

I hate the bye week. If the Steelers aren't playing I don't have any desire to watch any football at all. I do think a lot has happened in the past two weeks that I want to comment on, so here goes.

1) The Aaron Rodgers/Mike Tomlin bromance - As avid fans will tell you, these two have always been advocates for one another. I believe the rumor mill got going after this moment was widely shared online following the Packers/Steelers game. Add to that the fact that Ben hasn't been looking so hot lately and that Rodgers already asked to be traded last offseason and speculation was flying over Rodgers moving to Pittsburgh. I personally hope it's all fake news. I wouldn't want to replace one aged out QB for another two years younger. Can't we go for Derek Carr or something? I guess as long as we don't sign Deshaun Watson I'm fine. It doesn't look like Tomlin will be signing anyone, however, since

2) Tomlin is quitting to coach University of Southern California - jokes, I think. I guess during the bye week EVERYONE gets bored and people just start throwing random theories around on the internet? Even the Steelers got involved in this one, with Zach Banner tweeting:

Obviously, no one really took this seriously, and it apparently all started with Carson Palmer (never thought I would say that sentence) saying that Tomlin could coach USC if he wanted to. Tomlin shut down the rumors definitively.

3) Pittsburgh Penguins season started October 12 with a big win against the defending Stanley Cup Winners Tampa Bay Lightning. While Sidney Crosby is out after wrist surgery he had in September, the Pens are 3-1-2 after two weeks of play. The Steelers offensive line went to the game last night to show the Pens some love (even though the Penguins ended up getting killed by the Lightning, 5-1). Just look at these cuties supporting their fellow Pittsburgh athletes:

Is it too obvious that I just discovered the beauty and genius of Zach Banner's twitter account?

4) In a bit of personal news, my fantasy football team is somehow in second place! TBH this is probably because half the players in the league are regularly playing benched players, but I'll take it!

So what can we expect in this week's game? At 1 pm on Halloween the Steelers take on the Browns, who are shockingly good this season. At 4-3 the Browns are doing well, but Big Ben is still the quarterback with the most wins in Cleveland.
