Some Thoughts on the Steelers Season as of August

Disclaimer: I haven't seen any of the three preseason games in their entirety, but I do get highlights sent to my phone and have watched some big plays.

I really dislike commenting on the Steelers during preseason because honestly every year they are a completely different team in the preseason vs. the regular season. I always thought preseason was pretty much a joke and I really think you can't base anything off the preseason performance. All that being said, I do have a few thoughts on the upcoming season.

Some things I worry about:

1) Ben Roethlisberger. I'm sorry, but I've never really gotten over his scandals earlier in his career and I have always found it hard to rot for i. As he gets older, I just want to move on. I understand the argument that we will probably never have another quarterback as good and solid as him in my lifetime, but I still just want to move on and get that awkward transition over with.

2) Second half of the season woes. Last year we were 11-0 before completely tanking in the final five games. I worry that will happen again, especially looking at our opponents in the last half of the season. Last year in the last five weeks we lost to Washington and the Bengals. This year, our last five games include matchups with the Ravens, Browns and Chiefs.

Some things I'm excited about:

1) I don't want to be that classic sports fan who is so psyched for their first round draft pick only to have him tank in the regular season, but Najee Harris is someone I'm super excited to watch. To be fair, this is mainly because I saw this tweet back in April and has nothing to do with how he has played so far this season.

2) Pat Freiermuth also makes me excited, especially after he scored two touchdowns against the Lions.

Way too early prediction for the season: we will go 10-7. I'm trying to bet low so I can just be pleasantly surprised.
